      Bowls are a favorite project for woodturners.  The design possibilities are endless and  woodturners are very likely to try to experience every possibility.  Bowls are one of a type  of design known as "open forms".  Natural edged open  forms are designs whose rims are  oriented towards the outer edge of the tree and the bark of the tree is allowed to remain  on the piece as part of the design.
